William Stafford - Aspiring Pilot in Pensacola, Florida

A resident of Pensacola, William Stafford is close to earning his private pilot license and is planning to attend Auburn University to pursue a professional flight degree. He is aiming at a dual degree in international business, which will position him to have an in-depth understanding of aviation’s business side. William Stafford’s interests extend to the technical aspects of flying and the mechanics involved in achieving flight.

Another area of academic interest for Mr. Stafford is a college program that allows participants to work in the Florida Everglades, studying marine conservation. He has logged many volunteer hours over the years in roles such as youth assistant leader with the Pensacola State Kids’ College and as a teen peer counselor with Autism Pensacola. Mr. Stafford has also worked with the Chain Reaction Teen Leadership Institute on initiatives that provide youth with needed legal services.

Mr. Stafford takes pride in a family background that includes a grandfather of the same name who served on the bench as a federal judge. A longtime Boy Scout, he directed an Eagle Scout project that involved volunteers designing and building a pair of raised herb garden beds. These enabled residents at an assisted living facility to garden easily while standing up.
